CatSU prepares workforce for proposed revised SUC Levelling Guidelines

SDG 4: Quality Education

January 26, 2026

Catanduanes State University (CatSU), through the directive of University President Gemma Acedo, is taking proactive steps to raise awareness and prepare its workforce for the proposed revised guidelines of the State Universities and Colleges (SUC) Levelling.

While the current SUC Leveling framework is anchored on four (4) Key Result Areas (KRAs), the proposed revised guidelines expand this to five (5) KRAs, namely: access and equity; quality and relevance of instruction; excellence in research and creative works; extension and community services; and governance and management of resources.

In anticipation of these changes, the University is already working toward integrating the revised guidelines into its strategic plan to ensure alignment with national standards and future directions in higher education.

In line with this initiative, the CatSU Planning Unit spearheaded a three-day orientation on the revised SUC Leveling instrument held from January 13 to 15, 2026.

The activity was participated in by teaching and non-teaching personnel from academic, administrative, financial, and research divisions, including central management and the Panganiban Campus.

The orientation aimed to familiarize employees with the proposed revised guidelines jointly crafted by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in coordination with the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC).
