To maintain its ISO 9001:2015 certification, Catanduanes State University (CatSU) welcomed TÜV Rheinland auditors Ms. Maria Russet Bondoc and Ms. Jogina Mendiola as the ‘Opening Meeting’ for the three-day Second Surveillance Audit kicked off this morning, February 9, 2026.
Held at the Accreditation Room, the audit team was received by University officials led by CatSU President Dr. Gemma G. Acedo.
In her message, Dr. Acedo described the audit as “a reaffirmation of the University’s collective commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement, and excellence in public service.”
She added that the activity provides the University with an opportunity to assess and strengthen its systems, ensuring that processes remain responsive to the evolving needs of stakeholders.
Dr. Acedo also expressed her appreciation to all offices and personnel who worked diligently in preparation for the audit and encouraged the University community to continue upholding a culture of quality.
Chief Administrative Officer for Administration Atty. Gregorio M. Sarmiento Jr. introduced the key officials of the University, while Dr. Joseph G. Zafe, who serves as the internal audit team leader, introduced the two ISO auditors.
The three-day audit, running from February 9 to 11, aims to ensure CatSU’s continued compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and to assess the effectiveness of its quality management system across both the Virac and Panganiban campuses.
