Catanduanes State University (CatSU) has once again proven its growing presence in the academic world after earning strong results in the latest Webometrics Global Ranking of Universities.

In the January 2026 edition, CatSU ranked 3rd in the Bicol Region, 130th nationwide, and 4,631st globally. This achievement marks a clear improvement for the University, as it climbed 14 places from its previous 144th national ranking in both the January and July 2025 results.

The improved ranking reflects CatSU’s continued efforts to strengthen its online presence, research impact, openness of information, and global visibility.

Webometrics ranks universities based on their digital performance and academic influence. The ranking system evaluates institutions using indicators such as online visibility, research output, and accessibility of academic content.

It covers more than 32,000 higher education institutions across over 200 countries. Rankings are released twice a year, every January and July.
