Catanduanes State University (CatSU) President Dr. Gemma G. Acedo challenged faculty participants to cascade their learnings to their colleagues on the final day of the Futures Thinking in Action workshop on August 20, 2025.
“I know that you’ve learned a lot, and I truly hope that you will share what you’ve learned with your fellow faculty members who were not able to attend,” Dr. Acedo emphasized.
She likewise expressed gratitude to the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) resource speakers for accepting the invitation and acknowledged the successful completion of the event.
“I hope this seminar has provided meaningful insights for everyone. As we all know, our syllabus is carefully reviewed during accreditation, so it's important that the learning outcomes in our syllabus are clear, specific, and measurable,” she added.
“Thus, I am confident that you are now better equipped to develop a well-structured syllabus,” Dr. Acedo concluded.
Meanwhile, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Kristian Q. Aldea also joined the closing ceremony and, together with Dr. Acedo, presented certificates and tokens to UPLB speakers Dr. Rufo Gil Z. Albor, Dr. Inero V. Ancho, and moderator/facilitator Dr. Jenielyn T. Padrones.
The three-day workshop began with a lecture on micro-credentials on Monday, August 18, followed by a session on Tuesday, August 19, about Outcome-Based Education (OBE) aligned syllabi.
On the final day, faculty from various colleges, including Panganiban Campus, applied their learning by developing syllabi in their respective specializations and presenting them during feedback sessions with the speakers.
