Catanduanes State University (CatSU) has been certified by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) as a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA), joining seven other accredited farms in the province.
The certification was conferred on August 19, 2025, by ATI Bicol Regional Training Center Director Elsa A. Parot and her team during rites at CatSU.
The recognition enables CatSU to conduct research-based training and extension services aimed at equipping farmers and boosting the province’s agricultural productivity.
Vice President for REPA Dr. Roberto B. Barba Jr., LSA Farm Manager Assoc. Prof. Eddie Millon, and Project Coordinator Aileen S. Llandelar spearheaded the initiative that secured the certification.
ATI said the LSA program seeks to close gaps in the farming sector through targeted training and extension activities.
Also cited was Catandunganon farmer Ferdinand Ocol, owner of DC Integrated Farm in Casoocan, Virac, who likewise earned an LSA certification.
