A civil engineering senior from Catanduanes State University (CatSU) ruled the Bicol leg of the National Civil Engineering Students’ Quiz (NCESQ) 2025 held in Legazpi City, Albay.
Mark Genesis Teope, 4th year BSCE, clinched first place in the regional quiz and will banner Region V in the national finals on September 26, 2025.
CatSU also fielded Rowen Shane Guerrero and Hezronle Tabirao as contenders. They trained under Engr. Karen Joi P. Beo and Engr. Melvyn McArthur Tating, with support from Thomas Miguel Delapeña, president of the PICE CatSU Student Chapter.
Bicol University placed second while Sorsogon State University landed third.
CatSU President Dr. Gemma G. Acedo hailed the win.
“Mark’s feat shows the grit and skill of our students. This is a victory for CatSU and Catanduanes. We stand firm behind him as he fights in the nationals,” the President said.
