Catanduanes State University (CatSU) has secured a ₱12.3 million grant from the Department of Agriculture (DA) to roll out its Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) Project, aimed at boosting agri-livelihood training and production across its campuses.

The funding approval follows a successful site validation by the DA-Regional Field Office V on June 18, 2025, led by Regional Livestock and Poultry Program Coordinator Marianito A. Tesorero. Then-OIC Dr. Roberto B. Barba received the DA team and endorsed CatSU’s readiness, backed by farm and planning officials.

Now under the leadership of President Dr. Gemma G. Acedo, CatSU commits full support to LEED’s implementation. President Acedo affirmed that the university is ready to operationalize all components of the project, with designated sites already aligned through the LUDIP (Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan).

The DA grant covers 3.1M Swine Housing Module, 2.3M Layer Chicken Module, 5.9M Goat/Sheep (Meat, Dairy, Dual Type), and 1M Stingless Bee Production.

Additional DA-approved equipment—pelletizer, incubator, and feed mill—are also set for rollout.
