State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) locked in on the NBC No. 598 s. 2025 Revised Organizational and Staffing Standards (OSS) for SUCs Phase as the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) convened its Executive Board on August 27 at Lanson Place Mall of Asia Manila.
The circular, which redraws plantilla posts, streamlines workload, and tightens institutional structures, stirred sharp exchanges among SUC chiefs. The measure is designed to cut redundancies, sharpen efficiency, and align SUCs with national quality and fiscal rules.
Catanduanes State University President Dr. Gemma G. Acedo joined SUC presidents and fellow executives nationwide in the high-level talks.
The board also tackled the 2024 financial statements, the 2025 proposed receipts and expenditures, the 2026 National Culture and Arts Festival, and pressing SUC policy concerns and recommendations for CHED.
House Higher and Technical Education Committee Chair Hon. Jude A. Acidre capped the meeting with a consultation dialogue, hearing sectoral calls and weighing reform priorities with the SUC heads.
