Lab Schools rules PSYSC Olympiad, top scorer hailed

Catanduanes State University (CatSU) Laboratory Schools bagged top honors in the National Eliminations for the PSYSC Science Olympiad (PSO) held on September 6 at Bicol Regional Science High School in Ligao City, Albay.
The elementary team composed of Daniell Drei S. Bagay, Liam Vincent V. Faustino, and Ethan Matthew T. Gan See—who also emerged as the top scorer— clinched first place in Bracket I (Elementary). The team is coached by Asst. Prof. Lorena M. Villamor.
Their win secured them a slot in the Top 20 national finalists, where they will represent the Bicol Region alongside the University of Nueva Caceres in the PSO National Finals on September 27 in Metro Manila.
In the Junior High School category, the team of Rommgerald B. Rojas, Skipp Adriel T. Talay, and Maegan Claire R. Nazareno finished third place in Bracket II, under the guidance of coaches Mr. Andres P. Antones Jr. and Ms. Ma. Francia B. Soriano.
Meanwhile, the Senior High School team—Rona Jenina B. Belaro, John Carl R. Zuniega, and Raffy Zandro I. Deinla, coached by Ms. Soriano—also represented CatSU in Bracket III.
The PSO is a nationwide interschool competition that tests the skills of elementary and high school students across various science fields.
