OVERVIEW

The seal of the Catanduanes State University (CSU) depicts an evolution and direction. It is a sequel of the logo of its forerunner, the Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC).

This rightly pays homage to the University’s roots—the CSC—including its illustrious leaders, dedicated workers, students, and the stakeholders who individually and collectively served as the bedrock and the pillar upon which the University was firmly built. Likewise, the seal also illustrates the CSU’s mandate and wider scope of thrust and development directions for the future, as embodied in Section 2, (General Mandate), of Republic Act 10229.

Many logo designs of colleges which were later converted into universities take off from their former institution’s seal to show continuation and progression from a college to a university. It is a sort of a seamless representation of a timeline that chronicles the growth and development of the Catanduanes State University. The logo was prepared by the CSU Public Relations and Information Services and the Planning Services, upon consultation, review, and approval of the Planning Management Committee.

It was digitally executed by Bren Garette Z. Rivera, Graphics and Layout Editor of the CSU Statesman, the official tertiary student publication of Catanduanes State University.

LEGAL BASIS

The Catanduanes State University Seal was approved by the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines on March 27, 2013, upon review and recommendation of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines headed by its Chairperson, Dr. Maria Serena I. Diokno.
