Recently, CatSU was honored as one of the 100 Best Universities in the Philippines according to the independent ranking by EduRank.org in 2023. Additionally, CatSU has been acknowledged as one of the top three universities in the Bicol region by the FindUniversity.ph Philippines Universities Ranking, based on the aggregated passing rates of its graduates in board exams.

Under the leadership of CatSU President, Dr. Patrick Alain T. These groundbreaking initiatives were inaugurated on May 25, 2023, with the presence of PEZA Chief, Director General Tereso O. Panga. Furthermore, CatSU launched the CatSU Smart Greenhouse as part of its Edu-Eco Tourism Project. This solar-powered, remotely controlled, and online-monitored smart agriculture system, which includes hydroponic, aquaponic, and aeroponic setups, aims to enhance the skills and academic competence of agriculture students, providing them with a competitive edge in the real world.

The Solar MicroGrid at CatSU reflects Dr. Azanza's commitment to people-centered and planet-friendly policies as outlined in his Vision of HOPE. By tapping into renewable energy sources, the university promotes sustainable practices.

CatSU takes pride in being the first SUC in the country to possess a hybrid solar photovoltaic system. Equipped with a 750 KVA standby generator set, the university ensures an alternative power source during periods of insufficient sunlight or unexpected power outages.

The continuous enhancement of the university's status has led to a steady increase in student enrollment over the years.
