LABORATORY SCHOOLS MINI OLYMPICS 2024
EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (ED)The mini olympics kicked off
today, October 14, with student-athletes from elementary and secondary grades
proudly sporting their team colors—blue, purple, yellow, green, and red—as they
trooped at the Catanduanes State University gymnasium.
School Principal Joerandy C.
Tablizo expressed that this event is a ‘testament in fostering not only
athletic skills but also leadership qualities of students.’
Calling for unity and teamwork,
Dr. Julius S. Antonio, Head Teacher and Senior High School Coordinator, told
the participants on the importance of sportsmanship during the four-day Mini
Olympics from October 14-17.
Among the highlights of the
opening ceremony was the Bench Yell Competition, where Unit 2 clinched the
first place, followed by Unit 3 as second place, and the third and fourth spots
bagged by Unit 1 and Unit 4, respectively.
In the elementary with two
competing teams, the Pink Team has shone over the Purple Team in the Dance
Presentation.
With the theme “Evolve Through
Excellence: Athletes of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow,” the mini olympics is one
of the activities for this year’s 12th Charter Anniversary, providing students
an avenue to showcase their athletic prowess, and build social connections.
