CatSU, EBMC partner to prepare nursing students for RLE
CollegesThe College of Health Sciences at the Catanduanes State Colleges and the
Eastern Bicol Medical Center (EBMC) held an orientation for second, third, and
fourth-year students on January 25, 2023, to prepare the students in their
Related Learning Experience (RLE).
EBMC OIC Chief Nurse, Ms. Salve Tabo, led the orientation and discussed
the hospital's rules and regulations, protocols, and organizational structure
with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing students. She also emphasized the
importance of charting and answered any questions raised by the students.
Ms. Tabo noted that RLE is a crucial part of the nursing discipline and
allows students to apply the theories and knowledge they have learned in the
classroom to real-life situations.
EBMC's Dr. Jay Sorreda also spoke about the hospital's Infection and
Control, and Prevention Protocols. The hospital has a mandatory orientation
policy before students are allowed to start their duties. Dr. Sorreda expressed
his satisfaction that the orientation was successfully completed for the
students.
"We want to make sure our students are prepared for this learning
opportunity that will advance their competencies in various health situations.
That's why we are grateful for the support of EBMC in catering to our student
nurses for RLE,β Dean Joel S. Olfindo said. #CVecilles
